Electrical Technician

Position Overview:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and components within the port. This role requires a solid understanding of electrical schematics, plans, O&M manuals, PLCs, drives, generators, motors, and engines. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in maintaining and repairing electrical systems, along with proficiency in preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret schematic electrical drawings, plans, and O&M manuals.

- Troubleshoot and repair faulty electrical fixtures and system failures, including lighting poles and circuit breakers.

- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on low voltage electrical systems, control systems, motor drives (3 phase 480V power), and electrical fixtures within the port.

- Assist with troubleshooting and corrective repairs on sensors, modules, drives, PLCs, generators, and engines.

- Support some services and corrective maintenance works for medium voltage systems under the strict supervision of the Employer’s Electrical Engineer.

- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

- Work independently and with limited supervision.

- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Employer’s Engineering Supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

- Minimum of five years of experience in maintaining electrical systems and components.

- Extensive knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing electrical fixtures and systems.

- Basic knowledge of PLC components and troubleshooting.

- Proficiency in preventive and corrective maintenance procedures and reporting.

- Valid pickup, forklift, and truck driving license.

 

Skills:

- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical documents.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Effective communication skills in English.

- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

Mechanical Technician

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical degree and welding certifications, coupled with a strong background in maintaining port equipment. This role requires proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems, as well as a solid understanding of schematic drawings and O&M manuals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair

  - Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on all port equipment, including engines, hydraulic systems, and brakes.

  - Perform wire inspections and replacements as needed.

  • Technical Skills

  - Read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic system drawings, plans, and O&M manuals.

  - Diagnose and troubleshoot issues efficiently to minimize downtime.

  • Welding Expertise

  - Apply extensive knowledge in welding and cutting mechanical parts for repairs and modifications.

  • Communication

  - Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to coordinate with team members and document maintenance activities.

  • Driving

  - Hold a valid license for driving pickups, forklifts (FL), and trucks.

  • Additional Duties

  - Perform any other tasks assigned by the Engineering Supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

- Mechanical degree and welding certifications from a reputable institution.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintaining port equipment.

- Strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems.

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.

General Helper Technician

Position Overview:

The General Helper Technician assists Technicians with maintenance jobs, utilizes mechanical and electrical tools, and communicates effectively in English. The role involves performing housekeeping and cleaning tasks for port workshops and equipment, collecting running hours for port equipment as directed, and completing additional tasks assigned by the Engineering Supervisor.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist Technicians during maintenance jobs.

- Utilize mechanical and electrical tools efficiently.

- Communicate effectively in English.

- Perform housekeeping and cleaning tasks for port workshops and equipment.

- Collect and report running hours for port equipment as per Engineering Supervisor’s instructions.

- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Engineering Supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ports or heavy equipment industry

- Posses general knowledge of maintaining electrical & mechanical systems and components 

- Valid pickup, forklift, and truck driving license.

Electrical and Automation Engineer (Middle East)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical and Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team at Middle East. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in the ports and container terminals industry, with a strong background in electrical systems, automation technologies, and maintenance management. This role involves ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical and automation systems within the terminal, contributing to safe and reliable port operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and maintain electrical and automation systems for port and container terminal operations.

- Conduct regular inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of electrical equipment and automated systems.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and upgrade automation technologies, enhancing operational efficiency and safety.

- Develop and enforce maintenance schedules, safety protocols, and industry compliance standards.

- Analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions.

- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams.

- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment procurement, installation, and repair activities.

Qualifications:

- Proficiency in PLC programming, Drives and SCADA systems, and other automation software (Siemens, Yasakawa)

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with port-specific equipment such as cranes, conveyor systems, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs).

- Familiarity with industry-specific safety and regulatory standards.

- Certification in relevant electrical and automation disciplines.
